- Usage & Telemetry: Anonymized usage statistics, performance logs, error reports, and client device configurations to help us diagnose issues and optimize performance.
- Test Execution Data: Details of your test runs, including locator metadata, success/failure statuses, test step descriptions, console logs, and automated visual artifacts (screenshots and video recordings of test runs).
- Browser Extension & Recorder Data: The SmartestQA Chrome Extension captures user actions (clicks, keypresses, navigation events) on target pages to automatically generate test scripts. This data is only captured when you actively record a test run and is stored securely under your account.
- Third-Party Integrations: API tokens, repository permissions, and webhook payloads from integrations you configure, such as GitHub, Jira, Slack, TestRail, and Jenkins.
2. How We Use Your Information
We process your data for the following legitimate business purposes:
- Service Delivery: To execute test runs, maintain user sessions, manage workspaces, and store test run histories.
- AutoHeal & Locator Optimization: Our AI models process locator attributes (CSS selectors, XPaths, visual layout markers) to detect UI drift and automatically heal broken locators. This processing is strictly confined to element attribute structures and does not scan or extract proprietary application content.
- Integrations: To sync test results with your CI/CD pipelines, track issues in Jira, or trigger webhooks.
- Support & Communication: To respond to your customer support inquiries, send critical system updates, and notify you of test run completions.
3. AI Processing and Data Security
SmartestQA incorporates AI-driven technologies to simplify testing. We enforce strict data handling principles for AI workloads:
- No Code Extraction: We do not upload or store your entire application source code. The SmartestQA platform only requires access to DOM structures and layout attributes necessary to record and heal locators.
- Isolation: Customer test data is logically isolated. We do not use your proprietary test scripts, locating logic, or visual assets to train global AI models for other customers.
- No Selling of Data: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data, developer workflows, or test histories to third parties.
4. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We only share information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating our Services under strict confidentiality agreements. These include:
- Cloud Infrastructure: Secure cloud hosting, database management, and object storage providers.
- Analytics & Logging: Performance monitoring tools and error tracking software to maintain system health.
- Payment Processing: Secure, PCI-compliant payment gateways for billing and subscription management.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users, or in connection with a corporate transition (such as a merger or acquisition).

- Access & Export: You can download your test scripts, reports, and configuration files via our platform.
- De-integration: You can revoke third-party API tokens and delete pipeline connections at any time.
- Account Deletion: You can request the permanent deletion of your account and all associated test assets by contacting us.
